Magnox North ‘Meets the Supply Chain’

Magnox North is holding an event for its supply chain in North Wales on December 1st. The conference, entitled ‘Meet the Supplier’ will match local businesses with specific skills and experience, to Magnox North’s largest contractors with the aim of identifying upcoming opportunities for work.

The event is being held at the Celtic Royal Hotel in Caernarfon and is being run in partnership with Magnox North and Wylfa Sites, Isle of Anglesey Council, Gwynedd County Council and Menter a Busnes (The Welsh Assembly’s supply chain development organisation).

John Idris Jones, Magnox North’s Head of Socio Economic Development in North Wales, said: “These events are essential in matching our requirements - for safely delivering electricity generation and decommissioning – with the specialist skills of local businesses.”

He added: “Magnox North has been very successful in encouraging our larger, tier 2, suppliers to take advantage of the wealth of talent and innovation available in local businesses across North Wales.

Magnox North delivered a £380m programme of work last year, of which more than £200m was spent with the supply chain.
