Client of the Year

Magnox North is celebrating after being announced as ‘Client of the Year’ in the ‘Construction Excellence Wales’ awards 2009.

The ‘Client of the Year’ category identifies organisations that have demonstrated the greatest drive in ensuring best practice principles are adopted on its projects and throughout its supply chain. The Magnox North submission was based around supply chain improvement and the company’s best practice in the delivery of construction projects.
Magnox North operates three sites in Wales, on behalf of the UK Government’s Nuclear Decommissioning Authority: Wylfa, Maentwrog and Trawsfynydd*.

TSIF (a key Supplier at Magnox North’s Trawsfynydd Site) were also shortlisted for their entries into the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and Integration & Collaborative Working awards categories (I&CW) - after the site passed 1000 days without a loss time accident recently.

Sion Edwards, Magnox North’s Head Commercial Strategy said: "Being recognised as \'Client of the Year\' is a great honour, especially considering the calibre of the competition in this category. I am especially delighted to win this award as the relationship Magnox North has with its supply chain is critical to its future success.”

At the start of 2008/09 we set out our aims to deliver greater value to the UK taxpayer by improving the way we work with our suppliers and to work towards becoming a contractor of choice. This achievement marks fantastic progress towards that goal."

As winners of the regional award, Magnox North will go forward to the national event which is being held in London on the 19th November 2009.
